Fall 2018 Symposium

8:30am-12pm
Wurster Gallery (121 Wurster)

Schedule | Video

Join us for lively discussions about what works--and what doesn’t--in combining methods from different disciplines in order to investigate cities and urban life. What makes for an effective team-taught, cross-disciplinary course? Does creative practice constitute rigorous research?  This symposium will dig into five years of work in the GUH Initiative and will be of interest to anyone engaged in interdisciplinary teaching and research. It will be a great chance for folks who have been involved in one part of the Global Urban Humanities Initiative to learn about the rest of the program.

Featuring:

Student showcase of studio projects and other research and roundtable discussion of GUH impact on dissertation research

Faculty roundtable on interdisciplinary team teaching and impact of GUH on research and practice

Register below by end of day October 7.
