Global Urban Humanities Presents: The “Brown Bag” Series – A series of informal lunchtime talks on the global city, curated by the Global Urban Humanities Student Advisory Board. Our goal is to gather once a month to engage with a variety of faculty from the Arts, Humanities, and Environmental Design working in urban environments, sharing current work in an informal setting around coffee and light refreshments.
This series will launch on October 31, with Mark Anderson, Architecture professor and founder of Anderson Anderson architecture, presenting on “Infrastructures Of and For the Global City.” Mark’s balance of speculative work (having exhibited drawings and models at the Museum of Modern Art and the Venice Biennale) and (practical) knowledge– having founded Bay Pacific Construction and completed dozens of built projects around the globe– makes him particularly well-suited to begin our series, as his diverse body of work lends itself well to interdisciplinary dialogue.
Future topics covered will be developed in the coming weeks, but will likely center around urban waterfronts in Asian cities.
